Charitable Donations

HSBC is dedicated to the communities where we operate - both through the involvement of our employees and through charitable donations focused on three main themes; Education, Environment and Community.

HSBC believes that education and the environment are the fundamental building blocks for the development of communities and are issues of universal concern around the world. It is for this reason we aim to allocate around 75% of our donation budget to these two themes.

At HSBC we don’t just believe in giving money away, we believe that we can help as well. So when we donate to a school or charitable organization, we encourage our employees to work closely with them, through volunteering, to help plan future progress with more certainty.

Criteria for Charitable Donations

To qualify for charitable giving, the community initiative should bring a lasting benefit to the local community; communicate and reinforce the Group’s commitment to the community; enhance HSBC’s reputation as a public-spirited organization; and motivate staff through opportunities for direct involvement where possible.

Please review the Charitable Donations Criteria Checklist and Charitable Donations Core Focus to see if your community initiative or organization fits, and submit a proposal to hsbc.charitable.donations@ky.hsbc.com so that we can fully and fairly evaluate your request.

In order to allow sufficient lead time for review and consideration it is suggested that all applications are submitted a minimum of 3 months in advance of the project date.

Our Marketing Department will respond to your proposal within 30 days.
